HOW DO YOU IMAGINE YOUR REALITY? - RUNWAY GALLERY

Closer look at our NYFW Debut Collection “HOW DO YOU IMAGINE YOUR REALITY?”, a collection that reflects the unifying nature of fashion despite the many ways it expresses itself and that seeks to motivate the audience to build their own realities and chase their dreams.

The visual concept for the runway was that each look is a different person walking down the streets of NYC, each going their own ways, following their unique paths on their quest to IMAGINE REALITY.

LOOK 1

THE TRAVELER

To start the runway, it was important to establish a sense of where the runway, and MYTHIK, is meant to go. Hence the first look being dubbed “The Traveler”. The outfit itself is composed of two main pieces from the new line of MYTHIK essential products since a traveler dresses smartly over anything else: The Denim Shirt and the 2-IN-1 Cargo. To enhance this look, it was accessorized with the MYTHIK CAFE Cup and Large Tote Bag as these two would be objects a traveler would most likely be seen with.

LOOK 2

RODEO

This outfit was designed to give of the sense of an empowered young adult LA girl. So, we held nothing back with this Cropped Denim Jacket(with no shirt underneath) and Mini Skirt Combo. Can’t be an L.A. girlie without a bag so MYTHIK developed its first handbag in order to take this look to the next level.

LOOK 3

BEACH BALLER

This outfit was created to serve as an homage to our creative director’s childhood in Carolina. To do this, MYTHIK developed their own version of one of the official outfits of Puerto Rico street culture: a basketball set. This set features a beach print to resemble the Isla Verde beach coast found in Carolina. To accessorize, the look has a giant beach tote as well as a pair of MYTHIK Trailblazers, in order to reflect the very Puerto Rican behavior of going to the beach in sneakers and quickly changing to slides on the sand.

LOOK 4

SK8

For this look, the goal back was to give back to what gave birth to the fashion world MYTHIK would grow out from. So, our Creative Director decided to use his two favorite pieces from this style of clothing: hoodies and cargos. For the hoodie, MYTHIK has developed and oversized hoodie that drapes over your body, giving the baggy effect on the sleeves and torso. Additionally, the enlargened hood featurea a satin lining, for all our curly hair clients. We can’t forget to mention the ruffed star patches across the piece in order to give it a grungier look. Finally, to compliment the piece, we have the suede M Cap, Star-Pile Cargos and a new version of the MYTHK SK8 DCK

LOOK 5

STREET FORMAL

For this look, we wanted to merge streetwear with formal-wear and present MYTHIK’s take on what would be the “formal attire” for daily wear on the street. To accessorize we have the M Star Black tie, IMAGINE REALITY Knit Beanie and the new Debossed M leather belt.

LOOK 6

ROCKSTAR

This look is meant to reflect all those who have gone against the “norm” and have imagine their reality in the world of art and creative expression. To emphasize this, we developed the Tour Jorts and Trucker Hat to resemble the added accessories that a touring rockstar would have as well as the patch Cardigan

LOOK 7

FLOWER BOY

In collaboration with ORQUIDEA PROJECT, we developed a paneled quarter zip jacket and pant. The panels are meant to represent the vines, stem and roots of a plant and reflect the how nature intertwines with us in so many ways.

LOOK 8

THE WORKER

For this look, we have focused on those whose personal goal is to bring others dreams to luve. The Worker features our take on the popular work jacket style by developing a jacket that looks like one from a construction company. To highlight this, paint marks and company logos were added to the piece. We also collaborated with Forbidden to create a painted denim jean that represents the pant of a worker after work.

LOOK 9

THE STAFFER

The goal of this look is to highlight the importance of the crew that produced the show. We believe that, due to the nature of how projects are presented now a days, the audience tends to forget about the staff that is working behind the scenes. So, this look is meant to immortalize the staffer as an essential part of this runway.

LOOK 10

BORINCANA

The goal of this outfit was simple: flip the script. Red, blue and white are the colors that are costly seen as the colors of the US due to its flag as well as the white star. Thing is, this is the same palette and design element of the Puerto Rican flag. So, we aimed to claim the “AMERICANA” aesthetic and make it “BORINCANA”.

LOOK 11

Y2K24

For this look, we wanted to present our own take of a popular theme that has taken the world by storm in recent years. With Y2K24, we introduced our redefined Baby Tee, a piece that will become a mainline staple this coming year.

LOOK 12

CO-Z

The name says it all here. Thinking about the runways concept of having different people with unique backgrounds walking down the catwalk, we knew we needed someone who was just comfortable. The aim was to give of the sense that they had just woken up, maybe didn’t even change the sweater they slept it, put on some pants, grabbed their bag and a cup of coffee and headed out to imagine their reality.

LOOK 13

CAROLINA GRAND PRIX

For the final look of the collection, we have developed a full leather racing suit inspired by the color palette of the coat of arms of our Creative Director’s hometown, Carolina. On the set, there are custom buttons and M logo zippers as well as multiple PVC patches with our iconic logos as well as the outline of the town of Carolina. On the sleeves, the words IMAGINE and REALITY are embroidered. We enlisted local designer Ozvart from Sabta Corona to collaborate with us to create the set of gloves seen in the look.
